APW Celebrates 24 Years of Deploying Filipino Talents

Strong Beginnings

Asia Peopleworks (APW) started as an offshoot business unit of Asia Select, Inc in 1997. It further went organizational changes in 2011 as it leveraged on the opportunity to meet the talent demands and address the need for quality outsourced staffing.

Now on its 24th year in the business, APW operates as a division under the ZMG Ward Howell Group, founded by the late Jesus M. Zulueta. The ZMG Ward Howell brand is one of the pioneers of the human capital development, with three other companies under its umbrella: ZMG Ward Howell Executive Search, Asia Select, Inc, and Asia PeopleSearch.

“To date, APW is proud to have a diverse client portfolio from conglomerates and multinational companies,” says Jeanette B. Zulueta, Chairman and Co-Founder of APW. Even through the pandemic, APW has managed to support clients, especially in the industries of telecommunications, e-commerce, supply chain and distribution to name a few.

Our Values and Code of Ethics

APW provides job-contracting or outsourcing, not to be interchanged with “labor-only contracting.” The main difference is that job-contracting or outsourcing involves the recruitment, payment of salaries and benefits, and supplies the needed equipment and tools of the client (Panganiban, Philippine Daily Inquirer, 2017)

The firm is proud to have no pending labor cases and have no child labor policy. Anne D. Eugenio, Director of APW for more than 16 years, adds “We ensure to have ethical management standards and good employment practices. We’re fully compliant with the Department Order No. 174.”

Anne Eugenio also holds certificates on Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Basic Occupational Safety, Construction Occupational Safety & Health issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). APW also ensures that its business practices are up to date, with active memberships from the Philippine Association of Local Service Contractors (PALSCON) and the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP).

Outlook for 2021 and Beyond

The growth in numbers signify the need of APW’s services to address talent needs in relation to the different challenges their clients face. The firm has also more than 90 million pesos in capitalization and has deployed more than 1,500 talent resources from different job levels and industry segments.

“We believe in the Filipino talent and giving them chances of employment,” says Alexander M. Genil, President and CEO of APW. “We will continue to provide our services with the full compliance of labor standards, and to see more talents deployed to different client industries.”
